It’s that time of year again! October 4th is fast approaching, and that means SteelDay 2013 is right around the corner.

For those who may not be aware, SteelDay is an annual event hosted by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) that showcases how the structural steel industry contributes to building America. Attended by thousands of professionals and students across the country, it is the industry’s largest yearly educational and networking opportunity.

Here at Atlas Tube, we see SteelDay as an opportunity to educate professionals about HSS. Based off of the success of our event last year (when we launched our Designing with HSS educational video series), we have decided to host another event as a part of the nationwide celebration.

Similar to last year’s event, we will be hosting educational seminars (presented by yours truly) at the offices of our parent company – JMC Steel Group in Chicago, IL. However, this year we are excited to announce that we are able to offer an NCSEA Diamond Review certified presentation on the new A1085 spec.

This seminar will educate attendees about the new spec, as well as the unparalleled design advantages that it has for seismic and dynamic applications. Attendees of this presentation will be awarded one Continuing Education (CE) credit hour.

In addition, I will also be presenting two other hour-long seminars featuring HSS connections as well as a general introduction to HSS themselves.

The following is the schedule for our SteelDay seminars:

October 4, 2013

11 a.m.–12 p.m.: Intro to HSS

12 p.m.–1 p.m.: HSS Connections

1 p.m.–2 p.m.: The New A1085 HSS Spec*

*NCSEA certified
