2014 NASCC The Steel Conference Recap
NASCC officially wrapped up less than two weeks ago, and I’m happy to say it was quite the success for us here at Atlas Tube. Our company was founded in Canada, and we were able to meet and network with a fantastic local crowd in Toronto. And the virtual character at our booth was a definite hit with show attendees!
I was fortunate to give two presentations at NASCC this year – HSS Connections: Designing and Fabricating the Correct Way (which I delivered with Larry Kloiber from LeJeune Steel) and The New ASTM A1085 Specification: A New Dynamic for HSS (co-delivered with Erika Winters-Downey from AISC).The connections presentation touched base on a variety of different types of HSS connections – slotted gusset plate, cast, shear, moment, and truss, just to name a few. The 1085 presentation discussed the biggest drivers for the new spec, as well as its benefits for the industry.
Were you at NASCC this year? If so, tell me about your experience in the comments!
