Designing with HSS: Moment Connections
As we mentioned in our last installment of the Designing with HSS video series, HSS connections have some seriously unique challenges.
Moment connections are used to develop continuity and rigidity between a beam and a column. Moment connections can either be designed or partially restrained or fully restrained. Fully restrained moment connections possess sufficient rigidity to maintain the angles between connected members at the strength limit states.
